Newport Beach city leaders will entertain the city’s youngsters during
National Library Week from April 1 to April 7 and transform themselves
into storytellers.
Here’s the schedule of special story time programs:
* April 2 at 7 p.m.: pajama story time with library Trustee Catherine
Saar Kranzley. Kids aged 3 to 7; their special grown-ups and stuffed
animals are invited.
* April 3 at 10:30 a.m.: Books and Babies with library Trustee Patrick
Bartolic. This event is open to lap sitters aged 6 months to 24 months
and their caregivers.
* April 5 at 10:30 a.m.: Preschool story time with City Manager Homer
Bludau. Independent listeners aged 3 to 5 are welcome.
* April 7 at 10:30 a.m.: Family story time with Mayor Gary Adams. He’s
reading to kids aged 3 to 7 and their special grown-ups can listen, too.
Other special children’s programs during the week include the 10th
Annual American Girls Tea at 3 p.m. on April 4, for children in first
grade and above. At 7 p.m. on April 4, magician Jeff Martin will amaze
and amuse at a special magic show featuring disappearing bunnies and
birds.
Throughout the week, the first 10 customers at the central library and
all branch libraries will receive a coupon for a free rental video.
The events will all take place at the Newport Beach Central Library,
