Community College Badminton: Bucs record biggest win

COMPTON - The Orange Coast College women’s badminton team reached

another milestone in its inaugural season. The Pirates (4-4) won their

most lopsided match of the season Wednesday, taking an 18-3 victory at

Compton.

Coast won nine of the 11 contested matches, enough to secure 11 points

outright as the Bucs received seven points for six forfeited matches.

OCC’s Cynthia Tran led the way at No. 1 singles with two 11-0

decisions and two 11-2 victories, improving to 14-0 in singles

competition. Pirates Rana Duszynski, Tina Nguyen and Kristen Hamman won

two singles matches each.

Coast will host East L.A., Friday at 3:30 p.m.
