Boys golf: Mesa tops Tustin

TUSTIN - Costa Mesa High’s Bryce Sheridan shot even-par 36 over

nine holes at Tustin Ranch Golf Club as the visiting Mustangs shot 224

and defeated host Tustin in a nonleague boys golf match Thursday.

Two Tustin players were disqualified during the round, giving Mesa

(3-6) a win. Sheridan made birdie on two of the final three holes. Billy

Lund (43), Steve Whittaker (44), Michael Gardiner (47) and Kevin

Alexander (54) also scored for Mesa. The Mustangs play Estancia in a

Pacific Coast League match Monday at Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club (Mesa

Linda Course).
