Boys tennis: CdM sweeps Mesa, 18-0
COSTA MESA - Corona del Mar High junior Cameron Ball, the defending
Pacific Coast League singles champion, swept all three sets Thursday
without dropping a game as the Sea Kings beat host Costa Mesa, 18-0, in a
PCL boys tennis match.
Ball improved his record this season to 26-3. CdM, the top-ranked team
in Orange County, is 11-0, 5-0 in PCL.
CdM freshman Brennan Roberts and junior Erik Frisbie swept at No. 3
doubles and gave up only one game.
“The Costa Mesa kids were gentlemen and real fighters,” CdM Coach Tim
Mang said.
CdM travels to undefeated Troy, ranked third in the county, in a
nonleague match today at 3:15 p.m.
