Boys tennis Sea Kings double-up Troy

FULLERTON - The Corona del Mar High boys tennis team won its 12th

straight match with a 12-6 nonleague win over host Troy Friday afternoon.

Garrett Snyder teamed up with Randy Myers to sweep in doubles (6-3,

6-4, 6-2), as did the team of Peter Kulmaticki and Michael Bean (6-2,

6-1, 6-2).

That was Peter and Michael’s best tennis in a long time,” CdM Coach

Tim Mang said of Kulmaticki and Bean. “Garrett and Randy are very

consistent and they showed that today.”

In singles, Peter Morton and Cameron Ball each went 2-1 in sets. In

fact, the duo lost only one game in those four victorious sets.

The Sea Kings will host Laguna Beach on Tuesday, beginning at 3:15

p.m. before their showdown with powerhouse Peninsula on Wednesday, also

at 3:15.

The Panthers and Sea Kings met in the finals of the National High

School Boys Tennis All-American Team Invitational on March 17. Peninsula

won the contest, scored in collegiate fare, 7-2.

Doubles - Wadhwa-Stockwell (CdM) lost to Wang-Edwin Mendoza, 1-6, lost

to Edward Mendoza-Jan, 4-6, def. Patel-Parrish, 6-1; Snyder-Myers (CdM)

won, 6-3, 6-4, 6-2; Kulmaticki-Bean (CdM) won, 6-2, 6-1, 6-2.
