Boys golf: Eagles defeat Mustangs

COSTA MESA - Estancia High sophomore Jason Cassidy and Costa Mesa

junior Bryce Sheridan tied for medalist honors (2-over-par 37), but the

outcome of the Pacific Coast League boys golf match was not as close

Monday.

Host Estancia prevailed, 199-222, at the Costa Mesa Golf & Country

Club’s Mesa Linda course, sweeping the league series from their crosstown

rival.

Estancia’s Pete Baker and Greg Rausch shot 39, followed by Mesa’s

Steve Whittaker (40), Estancia’s Joey Mueller (41), Ryan Brown (43) and

Aaron Frankel (44), Mesa’s Billy Lund (46), Devon Stephens (49) and Kevin

Alexander (50).

The Eagles improved to 7-2, 4-1 in league, while Mesa fell to 3-8,
