Prep golf: Sea Kings handle Mesa

Nick Sherman shared medalist honors (2-over-par 37) to lead the visiting

Sea Kings to a 195-220 Pacific Coast League boys golf victory over Costa

Mesa Tuesday at the Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club’s Mesa Linda course.

CdM’s Joe Kwon (38) was third, while Mesa junior Bryce Sheridan was

the Mustangs’ scoring leader, matching CdM sophomore Tim Frohling with a

nine-hole round of 40.

Mesa’s Steve Whittaker (42), CdM’s Jason Wishengrad (43), Mesa’s

Michael Gardiner (43), Billy Lund (45) and Devon Stephens (50) followed.

Costa Mesa fell to 3-9, 0-6 in league. Corona improved to 9-2, 5-1.
