Cardinals show Dodgers no mercy, 19-1

The Cardinals came up with a big performance Saturday as nine players

had multiple hits to lead their team to a 19-1 victory over the Dodgers

in Huntington Valley Little League Minor A Division play.

Dave Folger led a potent offensive attack with a 4 for 4 day, which

included a double. Ryan Little tripled and singled, Brian Schwartz, Eric

Bartlett and Nick Mazzone each had two singles and a double, Tim Higgins

tripled, doubled, and singled, and Robert McKinley and Robbie Joyner each

doubled twice.

Mazzone pitched the first three innings, and got the win.

John Christopoulos singled twice to lead the Dodgers.

IN OTHER GAMES:

* Marlins 6, Indians 1

Tanner Phillips singled twice, Michael Chairez doubled, and Philips,

Bennett Allen and Barry Luke shared pitching duties for the Marlins.

Dalton Heikka singled twiced and doubled, Westen Stephens singled and

doubled, and Josh Plotkin had a pair of singles for the Indians.

* Yankees 18, Mets 18

This slugfest featured two singles and a double by Chris Emmerson, two

singles by Matt Reza and Trevor Springman, and a double by Matt Jacinto

for the Yankees. For the Mets, Alex Menses went 4 for 4, Cole Carden had

a triple and a single, Jacob Augen had two singles, and Sean Reimera

recorded a double.

MINOR B DIVISION

* White Sox 9, Yankees 4

Michael Pellegrino singled twice, Jake Little doubled, and Little

(three strikeouts), Brian Corder (three strikeouts) and Pellegrino (five

strikeouts) shared pitching duties for the White Sox.

Jordan Condrey singled twice, Thomas Johnson doubled, and Brad Schultz

(five strikeouts) and Pete Skinner (seven strikeouts) worked the mound

for the Yankees.

* Cardinals 8, Cubs 1

Cardinal pitchers Zack Michaels and Houston Hill limited the Cubs to

just one run; Scott Martin doubled and singled to lead the Cubs.

* Dodgers 5, Marlins 1

Max Talbert singled twice and pitchers Alan Shideler and Nick Hanson

also singled to lead the Marlins.
