Yankees outlast Pirates, 3-2

Rebecca Schwanemann had two hits, scored the game-winning run, and

ended a one-inning relief pitching stint by putting down the Pirates as

the Yankees won a close one, 3-2, in a seven inning Seaview Little League

Minor A Division game Saturday.

Chance Ross, who pitched the first six innings for the Yankees, had a

double.

Also for the Yankees, Sam Dennis doubled and singled, and Billy

Sahagen had two singles.

Pirates starting pitcher Ryan Miller threw six strong innings,

allowing just five hits. Miller also had a single, as did teammate Billy

Keller.

IN OTHER GAMES:

* Expos 4, Mariners 3

Expos pitchers’ Josh Amaral and Aaron Birk yielded just three hits,

while the Mariners’ trio of Josh Lesinski, Spencer Lee and Kyle Boswell

held the Expos to five hits total.

* Dodgers 13, Angels 7

The Dodgers scored eight runs in the final inning to post the

come-from-behind win. Garrett Heckel (who earlier had tripled) doubled

and Zach Campbell, Ryan Smith, Austin Prather and Kendric Stern all

singled and had RBIs during the decisive fifth inning.

* Royals 12, Rockies 5

Wes Hughes had three RBI and Tommy Shields, Nick Loccy and Keaton

Celinder each had two RBI as the Royals pounded out 14 hits.
