Boys tennis: Tars set back, 16-2

LAGUNA HILLS - The Newport Harbor High doubles team of senior Colin

Duncan and freshman Tyler Deck pulled off the two lone victories in the

Sailors’ boys tennis team’s 16-2 loss at Laguna Hills, in Sea View League

action Tuesday.

Duncan and Deck ripped 7-6 and 6-3 victories. The Sailors (2-9, 0-6 in

league) continues league play today at Aliso Niguel, at 3 p.m.

Singles - Schaeffer (NH) lost to Espig, 0-6, lost to Struker, 2-6,

lost to Samuels, 3-6; Lufty (NH) lost, 4-6, 0-6, 2-6; Hirst (NH) lost

Doubles - Duncan-Deck (NH) lost to Watson-Oh, 2-6, def.

Calinsky-Baghai, 7-6, def. Song-Ramasamy, 6-3; Banta-Lund (NH) lost, 1-6,

1-6, 2-6; Martinelli-Nguyen (NH) lost 0-6, 2-6, 2-6.
