Retail Roundup

There’s been a lot of complaining lately near the Retail Roundup desk

about, you guessed it, taxes. It seems no matter how little we make, too

much gets taken out. (Go figure, and if you come up with an answer,

please drop us a line because math does not seem to be the biggest

strength here.)

Fortunately, the bright minds at the MacKenzie Agency came up with a

helpful solution via those nice folk at the new Chipolte restaurant: The

Great Burrito Refund.

And the best news? The form to fill out, appropriately titled the

BurritoEZ, is “one genuinely simple, comparatively humorous form.”

Now, actually there is a little bit of math and some reading involved,

but if you skip ahead you’ll find that on April 16th, if you bring in

this form, you can get a burrito for free.

Now, if only our government were so generous. Newport-Mesa’s Chipolte,

by the way, is located in the Harbor Center.

Getting out of our misery

It hasn’t been lost on us here that the whole tax day deal is falling

during this holy Judeo-Christian time of year, which somehow must violate

the separation of church and state. But instead of staying fixated on the

line containing how much we owe the government, we’ll focus on Easter

candy and pies.

And the helpful folks at Pillsbury sent us a whole host of new recipes

for dinner and desert, ones you too can read by checking their Web site

at o7 http//:www.pillsbury.com/holidaysf7 .

Repeat after us: Chocolate, 1040, bread pudding, deductions.

If only it were so easy.
