NHBA: Mustang Dodgers edge Devil Rays, 8-7

The Dodgers squeaked past the Devil Rays, 8-7, Tuesday in Newport

Harbor Baseball Association Mustang Division (ages 9-10) action.

In a game that had five lead changes, Jeff Frum came through with an

RBI single to win the game for the Dodgers.

Pitcher Chris Griffin struck out eight batters over three innings,

while Braden Cluck, Peter Thomsen, Victor Done and Garrett McRoberts each

added RBI hits for the Dodgers.

The Devil Rays were led by Peter Kinney, who went 3 for 3.

In Pinto Division (ages 7-8) action:

For the Marlins, in their contest with the Cardinals, Austin Rios

struck out all six batters he faced and Max Gerard came through with two

solid innings of pitching.

Claire Silva, Gwen Gaylord, Scotty Steffel and Mac McKelvey each added

timely hits for the Marlins, while Domenic Re, Zachary Buie, Brecht

VantHof and Teddy Steffel each scored runs.
