Golden West College will present it’s Spring Dance Concert at 8 p.m.

on April 27 and 28 at the Mainstage Theatre, 15744 Goldenwest St.,

Huntington Beach.

In the spirit of the 1930s, the dancing marathon will will last two

hours each day, and will feature ballet, ballroom, modern and jazz.

This year’s concert will be performed by Golden West College students,

faculty and invited guests such as Community College of Southern Nevada,

the Metropolitan Ballet, Millikan High School in Long Beach, and the

Academy of Arts from Huntington Beach High School.

Featured choreographers will include Golden West dance instructor and

producer, Nannette Brodie, Misty Taite, Scher Borrell, Jeff Hendrix,

Monique Melton, Javier Gonzales, Kelly Roth and Allison Clark.

Admission is $10.50 general; $8.50 ASB/GWC, Gold Key Cardholders, and

children under 12.

Edison High close to bench fund goal

The Save A Seat Campaign at Edison High School is close to reaching

its goal of raising $30,000 to replace the dilapidated benches at the

Edison Bowl with aluminum ones.

Donors have put $22,140 into the campaign, but more is needed to have

the new benches installed in time for graduation. Contributors who donate

$100 or more will receive a letter this month to confirm their names for

the plaque that will be placed in the bowl.
