For a guy rumored to be leaving his job, Rep. Christopher Cox

(R-Newport Beach) is not showing it at the office.

Cox announced Monday that he was adding three members to his House

Police Committee staff. As chairman of that committee, Cox helps the

Republicans form their agenda and sits as the fifth-ranking GOP member of

the House.

Newport Beach native Kevin Logan joins the staff as a legislative aid.

Daniel Schwartz and Rebekah Eekhoff also are beginning work for the

committee.

“Kevin, Daniel and Rebekah are all exceptionally bright people whose

talents are much in demand on Capitol Hill,” Cox said. “I’m looking

forward to working with them on our ambitious agenda for the 107th

Congress.”

Cox also announced that committee staffer Jonathan Burke is leaving to

be an assistant to Vice President Cheney. Burke is the third of Cox’s

staff to move to the vice president’s office.
