The Orange County Fair and Exposition Center has begun screening

visitors who have recently been out of the country as a precaution

against foot-and-mouth disease.

Officials are asking guests at the Centennial Farm who have recently

been abroad to stop at the office and fill out a fact sheet or return

another time.

Centennial Farm houses cows, goats, sheep and pigs. Officials say this

is a step to protect the farm animals from the highly contagious disease

which does not, however, affect human beings.

According to administrators, the American Zoo and Aquarium Assn. has

recommended this precautionary action be taken. Both the San Diego Zoo

and the Wild Animal Park have issued similar policies. Information:
