City track and field meet Friday

The City of Huntington Beach will hold its Youth Track & Field Meet

Friday at Huntington Beach High.

Children born in or after 1986 are eligible to compete. Many different

running and field events will be offered, and athletes may participate in

two events, plus one relay.

Running events include the 50, 100, 200, 400, 800 and 1,600 meters,

plus the 400-meter relay. Field events include the long jump, high jump,

softball throw and shotput. Some field events are restricted, according

to age.

A registration fee of $6 per athlete is required, and registration

begins at 3:45 p.m. the day of the meet. The first event is scheduled for

4:45 p.m.

Admission is $1 per spectator.
