Boys golf: Sea Kings peak with win over Mesa

NEWPORT BEACH - The Corona del Mar High boys golf team ended its

Pacific Coast League regular season on the right note, defeating Costa

Mesa, 191-228, Thursday at the Newport Beach Country Club, par 35.

The 191 was the lowest team score the Sea Kings have posted all year.

Alex Chikovani and Brad Chamberlin each shot a 36 to lead CdM (14-4,

8-2 in league), while Nick Sherman (38), Colby Hackett (40) and Tim

Frohling (41) rounded out the top five.

Costa Mesa was led by Billy Lund, who shot a 41. Other Mesa scorers

included Steve Whittaker (42), Michael Gardiner (46), Bryce Sheridan (48)

and Kevin Alexander (51).
