Pet of the week

Angel, a 2 1/2-year-old female cat, is available for adoption through

the Community Animal Network. Recently, her owner took her to the All

Creatures Care Cottage Vet hospital in Costa Mesa to be put to sleep

because he was moving. The hospital personally called the network to save

Angel’s life.

Other rescued cats and dogs may been seen from noon to 4 p.m.

Saturdays and Sundays, rain or shine, at Russo’s Pet Experience at

Fashion Island, on Newport Center Drive in Newport Beach.

The network is a community-supported animal organization linking

people and pets through community action. Donations are accepted. See

Forty community service hours are also given to local high school

students for housing a pregnant or nursing cat with kittens. All food and

medical expenses are paid for by the network.
