Softball: Costa Mesa takes care of University

COSTA MESA - Sarah Watkins went 2 for 4 with three RBIs to lead the

Costa Mesa High softball team to an 8-2 Pacific Coast League win over

visiting University Tuesday afternoon.

Jade Moss had three hits and scored two runs, while Ann Marie Topps

went 2 for 4 with one RBI to pace the Mustangs’ 13-hit attack.

Mesa pitcher Alejandra Gallardo scattered five hits to earn the

victory and improve to 2-0.

The Mustangs (11-7-1, 6-1) will play at Northwood on Thursday,

beginning at 3:15 p.m.
