Hornets outlast Dragons, 5-4

Derick Rosas scored an unassisted goal in the final period Tuesday to

lift the Hornets to a 5-4 victory over the Dragons.

It was the first goal of the contest for Rosas, who also picked up a

second quarter assist, which led to a Robert Sanchez goal.

Jeff Fuzzard, Drew Richardson and Bryce Keizer also got into the

scoring act for the Hornets, while Jeremy Jennings led the team in with

two assists.

Hornets goalie Jaryd Mason had 27 saves.

Chas Plimpton scored twice to pace the Dragons, who also received

goals from Joshua Austin and Ali Plummer, an assist by Stephanie McKnight

and 27 saves by goalie Garrett Ono.

In other games:

Saints 2, Thunderblades 1

This defensive struggle featured two goals by the Saints’ Aaron

Fulmer, one goal by the Thunderblades’ Luke Gane, 24 saves by Saints

goalie Kyle Bezayiff and 25 saves by Thunderblades goalie Mike Burkhardt.

Flyers 3, Sabres 2

Cameron Monahan scored all three goals, David Airhart had an assist

and goalie Tyler Post had 21 saves to lead the Flyers.

For the Sabres, Mike Howze and Garret Greco both scored, Kyle

Steinbrick had an assist and goalie Donald Kohler stopped 24 shot

attempts.

Kings 4, Flames 3

The Kings outscored the Flames, 2-1, in a shootout session, to nab the

win. In regulation play, Travis Benson, Brock Ane and Michael Mowrey all

scored, and Kyle Anfang and Matthew Chisum had assists for the Kings. The

Flames received two goals from Jake Galaviz, a goal and an assist from

Spencer Layman and a goal from Alex Loeffelman. Kings goalie Chad Ramsey

had 31 saves and Flames’ goaltender Tyler Post had 26 saves.
