a.m. Sunday.

* Hamilton Street: An automobile theft was reported in the 700 block

at 9:21 a.m. Sunday.

* James Street: Possession of a controlled substance was reported in

the 700 block at 1:20 a.m. Monday.

* McClintock Way: A commercial burglary was reported in the 2900 block

at 7:44 a.m. Sunday.

NEWPORT BEACH

* Beacon Bay: Possession of a controlled substance was reported in the

first block at 2:45 a.m. Saturday.

* Clay Street: A palm tree was reported stolen from the front patio of

a home in the 3200 block at 5:44 p.m. Saturday.

* Newport Boulevard: Vandals reportedly lighted homemade firecrackers

on top of a pay phone next to City Hall at 7:51 a.m. Saturday.
