CMALL Majors: Tigers take three

COSTA MESA - The Tigers pulled out a pair of victories last week in

Costa Mesa American Little League action, defeating the Yankees, 10-2,

and the Dodgers, 7-6.

In the win over the Yankees, Nick Peterson pitched a complete game

with seven strikeouts, while Steven Hamasaki, Phil Weber and Alex Moralez

came through both at the plate and with the glove.

On offense, Cody Waldron went 3 for 4 with two doubles, a single and

two RBIs, while Andrew Millian and Adam Gardner each had two hits and two

runs scored and Cody Spoulos added a hit, a walk and two runs.

In the win over the Dodgers, Millian and Scott Shafer each pitched

well, while Gardner added two doubles and three runs scored.

Janson Shroeder added two hits, while Hamasaki, Millian, Spoulos,

Peterson and Moralez each added a hit and scored a run or had an RBI.

Still not satisfied, the Tigers kept roaring and defeated the Yankees

again, 10-9, in eight innings.

With the game tied, 8-8, Hamasaki hit a two-out, two-run single in the

eighth inning to give the Tigers the lead for good.

Waldron had three hits and three RBIs, while Schroeder also added

three hits. Peterson and Millian added two hits each.

Yankee standouts included Skyler Crane and Justin Reyes, who each had

two hits.
