A’s hurlers toss no-hitter in 5-0 win over Rangers

Race Parmenter, Brian Wiktorski and Alex Barnes came up with a

pitching performance Saturday that overwhelmed the Rangers, and the A’s

were able to collect a 5-0 Majors Division victory.

The trio threw a no-hitter, allowing just one walk.

They faced just 19 total batters.

Parmenter also figured prominently in the A’s offense with a walk,

single, double and triple. Other big hitters were Pablo McBeth with two

singles and Kyle Ammons with a double.

Diamondbacks 13, Mariners 3

Andy Scott Webster went 4 for 4 with a pair of doubles, Clayton

Prestridge and Chase Barnes both singled twice, Hiroshi Toshiyuki doubled

and Barnes and Jenna Barnes (starter) combined for five strikeouts to

lead the Diamondbacks. Karcher Morris singled twice and Adam Martineau

doubled for the Mariners.

White Sox 5, Angels 1

Justin Thompson singled twice, doubled and walked, Michael Bogard

singled and doubled, Hunter White doubled and Drew Johnson, White and

Thompson combined on a four hitter with 10 strikeouts to power the White

Sox. Jimmy Queen, Sean Lavenau, Daris Douty and Kirk Hodgman all singled

and Adam Cutts scored the lone run for the Angels.

White Sox 7, Rangers 0

Michael Mendez had a big game for the White Sox as he homered in the

fourth inning and tossed a no-hitter in a complete game victory. Justin

Thompson singled three times, Hunter White doubled and singled and Drew

Johnson doubled for the White Sox.

MINOR A DIVISION

Indians 5, Dodgers 3

Alex Holtz, Wade Carden and Josh Plotkin all singled twice and Westen

Stephens and Brendan Ketchum doubled for the Indians; Travis Hanley

tripled and Stuart Chenier singled and doubled for the Dodgers.

Marlins 11, Yankees 5

Barry Luke singled twice and doubled, Tanner Phillips, Michael

Chairez, Trevor Carberry, Rob Toth and Bennett Allen each singled twice

and Danny Hurato doubled for the Marlins; Matt Jacinto delivered a 3 for

3 performance for the Yankees, and Ricky Marin tripled.

Cardinals 9, Yankees 3

Dave Folger had two doubles and hit an inside-the-park home run and

Ryan Little tripled and singled twice to lead the Cardinals; Ricky Marin

singled and doubled and Matt Jacinto singled twice to lead the Yankees.

Cardinals 1, Mets 0

Nick Mazzone and Tim Higgins combined to shut out the Mets on three

hits, Mazzone also had a double and scored on Dave Folger’s RBI single in

the first inning; the Mets’ Alex Meneses pitched a strong game allowing

just one run, Drew Baumann doubled and Cole Carden and Kasey Crandall

singled.
