The National Freedom of Information Coalition is holding its annual

conference today, Saturday and Sunday in Newport Beach.

Attorney General Bill Lockyer, Los Angeles District Attorney Steve

Cooley, a handful of newspaper editors and members of the First Amendment

Coalition are scheduled to speak. The workshop is called “It’s the

Public’s Right.”

The event will be held at the Hyatt Newporter Hotel, 107 Jamboree

Road. Registration fees are $150, a cost that includes two meals.

Students can pay $25 for the panels.
