Vanguard honors eight academic All-GSAC standouts

Vanguard University has recognized eight student-athletes who were

named to the academic All-Golden State Athletic Conference team.

To qualify for the academic All-GSAC, the athlete must be a junior or

senior with at least a 3.5 grade point average.

Nicole Benning, Gina Liebengood and Andrea Saucedo were all first-time

selections from the Lions’ softball team.

Benning is a senior with a 3.57 GPA, Liebengood has a 3.63 GPA and

Saucedo carries a 3.63 GPA.

Bryan Davis (3.56 GPA), a member of the Lions’ baseball team just

completed his degree in English.

Two members of the VU’s track and field team, Randy Smith (3.57) and

Beth Weidler (3.6 GPA) were also honored, as was Megan Godfrey (3.54 GPA)

and Lindsay Doyal (3.97 GPA) from the women’s tennis team.
