Two Southwest Airlines flights headed to Orange County were delayed by

bomb threats in Oakland on Memorial Day at John Wayne Airport.

Southwest’s Flight 659 from Oakland International Airport to John

Wayne Airport eventually landed at 6 p.m. Monday, three hours after it

was initially scheduled to arrive. The plane was carrying 125 passengers.

The airline’s Flight 1846 was diverted to Los Angeles International

Airport after it was also delayed by a bomb threat Monday evening.

The plane, carrying 98 passengers, could not land because it would

have landed after John Wayne’s mandatory curfew. Per the terms of the

1985 settlement agreement, arrivals are allowed from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday.

A bomb was not discover on either plane.
