RETAIL ROUNDUP

Summer’s just about here and the pools are gonna need some shining.

Heck, once the June bugs arrive, those pools will really be in trouble.

But don’t fret. Our good friends at Aqua Products have informed us that

they have the solution to those dirty pools: the Aquabot.

Starting at less than $1,000, the Aquabot can do its job at a cost of

less than 3 cents an hour, we’re told. The ‘bot has some computerized

doohickeys that send it all over a swimming pool of any shape or size.

Boasts Aqua Products: “It is easier to use than a VCR.” Wow! Now, can it

cover a city council meeting?

DON’T THROW A DOG TOO MANY BONES

Pet spoilers everywhere probably know this already, but San Diego is

hosting the 43rd annual Pet Products Trade Show this weekend. Crazy

enough, the industry records sales of $30 billion annually. Yikes! Wonder

how much those little puppy clothes cost.

It’s no wonder Hollywood’s coming out with a new movie titled “Cats &

Dogs,” featuring just those. Mice and fish just don’t get any respect.

And what ever happened to all those chimp flicks and shows of the ‘70s

and ‘80s? What are Clint Eastwood and Tony Danza doing? They should

reunite with those monkeys!

In the meanwhile, we’ll simply have to settle for the latest “Planet

of the Apes” featuring, of course, those “damn dirty apes.”

WHAT DO THESE PEOPLE DO A LIVING?

Last week, we told you that a business was pushing jewelry as a gift

for Father’s Day. Well, Budget Rent A Car of Beverly Hills no less

suggests getting Dad a car. At least for the day, anyway. Ferrari’s go

for only $1,800. Must be nice.
