MUSEUMS

International Surfing Museum of Huntington Beach, 411 Olive Ave.,

between 5th and Main streets. (714) 960-3483. Exhibits include artwork

and a collection of antique surfboards. Open noon to 5 p.m. daily, June

to September. The museum is closed Monday and Tuesday during the rest of

the year.

Newland House Museum, 19820 Beach Blvd. near Adams Avenue. (714)

962-5777. Stop to tour this Victorian home built in 1898. Early

Huntington Beach residents William and Mary Newland lived in the house

for 50 years. Open 2 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, noon to 4 p.m.

weekends.

OTHER INTERESTING PLACES

Old World Village, 7561 Center Ave., near the San Diego Freeway

between Gothard Street and Beach Boulevard. (714) 895-8020. Includes

replicated buildings in the Bavarian style, cobblestone streets, several

German restaurants, murals and shops that sell imported items. German

festivals are held at various times during the year. Guided tours can be

arranged by reservation, and brochures are available at information

kiosks in the village. Call for hours.

GOLF COURSES

Meadowlark Golf Course, 16782 Graham St., (714) 846-1364. Includes pro

shop, club rentals, tournaments, PGA instruction, practice facilities and

banquets. Open dawn to dusk year-round.

p.m. Monday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 5

p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Banning Avenue Branch Library, 9281 Banning Ave., (714) 375-5005. Open

noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, and 9

a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Closed Sunday and Monday.

Helen Murphy Branch Library, 15882 Graham St., at the corner of
