A DAY IN THE LIFE IN HUNTINGTON BEACH

Huntington Beach -- a place where life’s variety comes together, if

you take the time to look, maybe just a second, a moment . . . or maybe

even a day.

The Independent sent its team of photographers -- Greg Fry, Don Leach,

Sean Hiller, Jennifer Taylor and Marianna Day Massey -- to chronicle our

community on a particular day -- May 23.

Like other cities in Orange County, Huntington Beach is a fast-paced

community with lots going on. But there is more if you look closely. When

our photographers fanned out to look at a day in the life, they found the

trendy when they visited Golden West College and the colorful when they

walked the boilers at the AES Corp.

From an early morning jogger at the Bolsa Chica wetlands to a

Huntington Beach firemen stocking up on groceries for the day, what they

brought back expresses some of the diversity and richness found in local

life.

There were the soccer fans watching an International Cup match in Old

World Village and a Parent and Me class at the Huntington Beach City Gym.

These photographers saw something that you may have missed: the color,

motion and tranquillity of everyday life in Huntington Beach.

So we’ve decided to bring it to you, and we invite you to come along

for this visual journey through your hometown.
