Estancia High girls top 10

1. Senior Liz Huipe finishes sixth at the CIF State Division III cross

country finals in Fresno.

2. Liz Huipe finishes third individually at the Pacific Coast League

cross country finals, then matches that finish at the CIF Southern

Section Division III Finals.

3. Liz Huipe finishes fourth in the 3,200 meters at the CIF Southern

Section Division III track and field finals.

4. Junior sprinter Hanni Geider wins the Pacific Coast League 200

meters in 26.71 and is second in the 100 in 13.0.

5. The basketball team finishes tied for second with Corona del Mar in

the Pacific Coast League and advances to the CIF Southern Section

Division III-AA second round, finishing 16-11.

6. Senior Arlis Reynolds is All-Pacific Coast League in soccer and

volleyball, earning first-team laurels in soccer.

7. Senior Zuyin Barrera, who plays sparingly due to illness, drains a

game-winning three-pointer with nine seconds left to cap a 39-38 victory

that completes the Eagles’ season sweep of crosstown basketball rival

Costa Mesa.

8. Seniors Lisa Hirata and Zuyin Barrera, as well as sophomore

basketball teammate Xochitl Byfield, earn spots on the All-Newport-Mesa

District Dream Team.

9. Junior sprinter Jasmine Geider is second and third in the 200 and

100, respectively, at the Pacific Coast League Finals.

10. Stephanie Cachola (softball), Somer Flaherty (water polo), Ruth

Chaverro (soccer), as well as basketball players Lisa Hirata, Xochitl

Byfield, Trisha Wase and Tisha Gray, all earn All-Pacific Coast League

honors.
