On Saturday, the city of Newport Beach’s refuse division will begin

picking up trash twice a week in West Newport Beach. This affects areas

west of Balboa Boulevard between Summit and Main Street. The extra pickup

will continue until Sept. 1, with the exception of July 7, when the

Saturday service will be postponed for a week.

Trash must be placed in a container that does not exceed 35 gallons in

capacity, is not constructed of metal and does not have an attached lid.

In addition, containers may not exceed 50 pounds when filled to capacity.

The use of durable, disposable bags is encouraged. Refuse left in

noncompliant containers will not be collected until placed in either

approved containers or disposable plastic bags. Wheeled containers that

otherwise meet these requirements are acceptable for use. Information:
