Girls volleyball: Saints tab Englebrecht

Allison Englebrecht, who played and coached volleyball at Corona

del Mar High, has been named the Santa Ana High girls volleyball coach.

Englebrecht, 26, who coached the CdM frosh-soph team for two years,

led the Sea Kings to a second-place Sea View League showing in 1998 and a

league title in 1999.

She played varsity volleyball at CdM for three years and in her senior

year in 1992, she was the starting middle blocker on the Sea Kings’

national championship team that finished 36-0. Englebrecht also played at

the University of Portland and competed professionally in Switzerland for

a year.
