Simpson new football coach at Ocean View

Sean Simpson was named Tuesday as the new head football coach at Ocean

View High, the school announced.

Simpson most recently guided Downey High to the semifinal round of the

CIF Southern Section Division II playoffs. He has 15 years of coaching

experience, which includes coaching quarterbacks and the defensive line

at Cerritos, Gahr and Canyon.

Simpson, a graduate of Cerritos High and Cal State Dominguez Hills,

inherits the program from Harold Eggers, who coached the Eagles the past

three years and guided the school to back-to-back playoff appearances for

the first time.

Eggers is headed to Norwalk High.

“When I look at this group of athletes, I see dedication, team spirit

and the ingredients for a winning season,” Simpson said of Ocean View. “I

intend to make our team goals become reality. Look for the Seahawk work

ethic to produce results. They are winners.”
