Pet of the Week

Beau is a 1-year-old neutered and declawed cream tabby who is

affectionate and likes to be held, according to the Community Animal

Network.

Adult cats lose their lives this time of year because many people tend

to adopt kittens, network officials point out.

The animal network now has cages inside Russo’s Pet Store at Fashion

Island in Newport Beach. To adopt a pet, set up an appointment by calling

(949) 759-3646. More volunteers are needed to help during the week at

Fashion Island as well, network officials said.

Pets are also available for adoption on the weekends in front of

Russo’s.
