Blackhawks come up big on defense in 3-0 win

A strong defensive effort Tuesday night carried the Blackhawks to

victory, as they defeated the Red Lazers, 3-0, in a Campbell Division

contest.

Darrell McDonald recorded 19 saves and was credited with the shutout.

Zachary Beko scored the match’s first two goals, his scores were set

up by Nicole Chittum and Connor Culhane. Marcus Velasco completed the

scoring with a goal off a Beko feed in the second period.

The Red Lazer’s Kyle Impelman finished with 38 saves.

In other games:

Squids 8, Intimidators 1

Timothy Francis and Nathan Wing accounted for all the Squids’ scoring

with four goals each, Joel Gilbert had two assists and Alex Zinger had

one. Connor Cal Lathrope had 23 saves.

Melinda Reed scored unassisted for the Intimidators and Travis Beckman

had 26 saves.

Badgers 7, Hurricanes 2

Austin Heinz scored three goals, Gregory Hancock scored twice, Sean

Froelich and David Abady scored, Cheyne Taylor had an assist and Matt

Bodziak had 27 saves to lead the Badgers.

For the Hurricanes, Evan Kurth and Jessica Stopnik scored one goal

each and Marcus Kurth had 36 saves.

Ice Pups 5, Blades 1

Andrew Livezey recorded 32 saves, Kirsten Marony scored two goals and

Luke Bosiljevac, Joshua Ane and Kyle Christi each scored once for the Ice

Pups.

Natalie Bergeron scored unassisted and Justin Pederson had 29 saves

for the Blades.

ADAMS DIVISION

Flames 6, Fire 3

Four straight goals scored in between the first and second periods

lifted the Flames to the win.

Corinne Clegg scored three goals, David Clegg tallied two goals, Jake

Beideman scored once, Jenna Thormodsgaard had an assist and Dillon

Mihalik stopped 10 shots to lead the Flames.

Evan Kurth dropped in all three goals for the Fire, Ricky Martin had

an assist and Nathan Wing had 14 saves.

Avalanche 3, Red Wings 1

David Mastro scored the first and last goals for the Avalanche, Riley

Rodriguez scored once with an assist and Taylor Song recorded 10 saves.

Alissa Mowrey scored unassisted in the third period and Zachary Johns

had eight saves for the Red Wings.

Sharks 3, Slickshoes 2

The Slickshoes rallied with two third period goals but came up short.

Cameron Pearlman, Shane Pearlman and Christian Webber each scored once

and Dylan Miller had 13 saves to pace the Sharks.

Ethan Loy scored both goals unassisted for the Slickshoes and Jared

Rassler had 10 saves.

Red Rockets 6, Phantoms 3

Jacob Shaver led all scorers in the division on this day with four

goals, Jason Callahan had the other two and Steve Brandenburg had 12

saves to lead the Red Rockets.

Hamilton Bretherton had two goals, Kylie Girvin scored once and Eric

Jervik recorded 10 saves for the Phantoms.
