B.W. COOK -- The Look

Zutopia has a store motto, says manager David Cruz. “I am me. It’s who

I want to be.”

The kid-friendly South Coast Plaza store certainly seems to be living

up to its individual declaration of style.

Model Courtney Friend, 11, had a fine time checking out the threads.

Courtney, a dance enthusiast who also happens to play the clarinet, says

that she loves Brittany Spears, listening to 102.7 KIIS FM and, of

course, ranks shopping at Zutopia right at the top of her list.

1. Model Courtney Friend looks like a rock star in this sleeveless,

spray glitter tee ($18.50) and a pair of dip-dyed, sparkle, boot-cut blue

pants ($39.50). Her assorted bracelets and necklace cost between $5.50

and $7.50.

2. Summer chic is the look for this teen in a pieced plaid halter

dress ($29.50), paired with a dark-rinse denim jacket ($29). A glass

heart coil bracelet ($6) graces her wrist.

3. Courtney was ready for the Fourth in these red, white and blue

madras plaid capri pants ($29.50) and a red “I Rock” flag tank top

($19.50). She accessorized with a star choker ($8), a star bracelet

($6.50) and a bandanna print kerchief ($6).

4. Courtney transforms into an uptown girl in this bold

black-and-white floral boat-neck dress, $26.50. A heart charm bracelet

($6.50) and and cat-eye sunglasses ($8) complete the look.

5. A “cow girl” T-shirt with pink rhinestones ($19.50) and cropped

denims with leather ankle ties ($38.50) are a suitable outfit for

Courtney to wear to the Orange County Fair. A $6 bracelet and a glitter

headband ($6, sold in sets of three) tie everything together.

6. Courtney is ready to go back to school (but not yet) in this camel

tie-front duster ($34.50), bohemian tank ($16.50) and dark denim flare

jeans ($36). A “Heidi” braided headband ($7) and rhinestone heart

sunglasses ($9.) add a playful touch.
