Briefly in the news
-- By Paul Clinton
Assemblyman John Campbell (R-Irvine) is looking for some face time in
the district.
To keep his finger on the pulse of the region, Campbell has set up a
public meeting on Saturday at Diedrich Coffee in Costa Mesa.
Campbell said he will field questions about district and statewide
issues, as well as give a report about his views of the state power
crisis, budget stalemate and a slew of education bills.
“It was to try to be accessible,” Campbell said about the event. “It’s
just a simple, informal way for people to come and talk to me.”
Campbell represents the cities of Costa Mesa and Newport Beach in his
70th Assembly District, as well as parts of eight other cities.
The entire district is invited to attend the event, which will run
from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Diedrich Coffee is at 1170 W. Baker St.
