Women’s volleyball: VU signs top setter
COSTA MESA - Lacey Roberts of Bakersfield has signed a letter of
intent to play women’s volleyball at Vanguard University.
Roberts, a setter who played four years at highly regarded Centennial
High, amassed 881 assists and 54 kills her senior year, while being named
the team’s Most Outstanding Offensive Player. The co-captain was also
selected all-league and all-area her junior and senior years.
During Roberts’ prep career, Centennial won four Southwest Yosemite
League titles, as well as two CIF Central Section championships.
Roberts, who carried a 3.4 grade-point average in high school, will be
a freshman in the fall and plans to major in exercise sports science at
VU. The Lions’ first match is Aug. 27.
