Shana Bannert of Newport Beach received her undergraduate degree in
the school of arts from Manhattan College, in Riverdale, N.Y., on May 20.
Bannert’s degree was one of 540 undergraduate degrees issued by the
college, which has five schools in arts, business, education, engineering
and science. . . . The Orange County division of Standard Pacific Homes,
which is active in Newport Beach, has promoted Belinda Lasater to vice
president of finance. The Cal State Fullerton graduate will be
responsible for overseeing the division’s accounting department. . . .
Components Corp. of America’s StacoSwitch subsidiary in Costa Mesa has
promoted two executives to presidential and vice presidential positions.
Costa Mesa resident Richard Brown will be the president and general
manager of the StacoSwitch subsidiary, where he served as vice president
of marketing for the past 11 years. . . . StacoSwitch manufactures,
designs and markets rugged duty switches, electronic interface
controllers and data-entry keyboards to industrial and defense equipment
manufacturers worldwide. James F. Gust, a Temecula resident and former
president of StacoSwitch, will be the new vice president of Components
Corp. of America. His duties will include focusing on growth in acquiring
companies and products compatible with Components Corp. of America
manufacturing divisions. . . . Senior Megan Moyer of Costa Mesa was named
Outstanding Student of the Year in psychology by the social sciences
division at Vanguard University for the 2000-01 school term. Rick
Hardy, dean for enrollment management at the university was appointed as
the vice president for enrollment management and advancement by the
university’s president, Murray Dempster. In his new role, he will oversee
financial aid, admissions, church relations, and development and
university relations. Hardy, a Costa Mesa resident, began his career at
the university in 1982, when it was Southern California College, as an
assistant professor of communications.
