WEATHER FORECAST

The sun should be rising through the clouds this morning, but by noon

it ought to be out in full force. Early mid-60-degree temperatures will

climb to the high 70s around the San Diego and Corona del Mar freeways,

while the waterfront will be only in the low 70s.

It’s looking like a nice evening, though. No clouds, the temperatures

will stay in the 70s until after 7 p.m. and then it’s smooth sailing

through the night.

BOATING FORECAST

Slightly rough waters in the harbor this morning are possible, though

the winds should stay relatively calm between 10 and 15 knots. Watch for

some patches of fog. The waves should calm down throughout the day and

keep the waves in the 2-foot range.

The deeper waters will see about the same, with winds a bit stronger

at 20 knots. A mix of southwest and northwest swells around 5 feet could

rock a smaller vessel.

SURF

This morning should be the best of the weekend, although the swell

that’s coming in isn’t going to favor Newport beaches all that much. The

shape’s shaping up nice, and the tides shouldn’t mess with things much.

Expect maybe some chest-high waves but not much more. Well, you can

expect crowds.

Sure feels like June, doesn’t it? As we’ve come to expect, those

clouds will burn away by noon, and it’ll be sunny and just a wee bit
