Pony: Winter baseball

Registration for Costa Mesa Pony Winterball will be held Saturday,

August 11, from 9 a.m. to noon at Costa Mesa High School, in front of the

gymnasium.

The Winterball season begins the second week of September and

continues until mid Novemeber. Practices will begin in late August. The

cost to play is $50 and all games are played at TeWinkle Park or Costa

Mesa High.

The competition consists of Pony teams from other leagues, including

Irvine, Fountain Valley and Newport Beach among others.

Metal cleats are allowed and there are leadoff and pickoffs. The games

are seven innings long.
