Newport Beach police are still looking for two robbers who stole a

suitcase containing jewelry from a courier in the parking lot of the

Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club on Tuesday night.

An estimate on the amount of the loss is not available, said Newport

Beach Police Sgt. Steve Shulman.

He said the robbers escaped in a mid-size sedan.

The male courier had picked up jewelry from several stores in Orange

and Los Angeles counties, Shulman said.

“He was definitely followed,” he said. “There’s no question about

that.”

The man had just left a boat and was loading the suitcase into the

trunk of his vehicle about 9:40 p.m. when he was approached by the two

armed men, police said.
