LIONS PREPARE BACK TO SCHOOL TREAT: For the second year, members of
the Harbor Mesa Lions Club are decorating and filling dozens of shoe
boxes as welcome back to school gifts for first-graders at Whittier
Elementary School. Led by Joan Parks, Carol VanHolt, Ann McLlroy and
Eunice Thomason, club members have been collecting the shoe boxes,
covering them with decorations, adding pencils, pencil sharpeners,
erasers and other much needed schools supplies. The first day of school
is Sept. 4th, and the Lions will be at the Whittier Library handing out
the back-to-school treats to appreciative students.
DONATE VIA THE WEB: Children’s Hospital of Orange County now has
E-Giving at The Choc Shop at o7 https://www.choc.orgf7 . Jeffrey Wilcox,

the Web site, on a secure server, to support and protect the health and
well-being of more than 100,000 children that the hospital serves each
year. At the Choc Shop site, visitors can also shop for child safety
products and CHOC branded “Bear Wear” with all the profits donated to
