WEATHER FORECAST

Though the day will start off sunny, don’t be deceived. The clouds

plan to make their way in. In fact, they’re planning to stick around, at

least partly, until the evening. Nevertheless, the thermometer should hit

about 83 in Costa Mesa while it will be a few degrees cooler in Newport

Beach.

Overnight, expect a nice, warm 67-degree reading. On Thursday,

meanwhile, the clouds shouldn’t be a problem, making way for mostly sunny

conditions and temperatures in the low 80s.

BOATING FORECAST

Aside from some patchy morning fog, a light westerly wind of 10 to 15

knots will bring about 2-foot waves and a mixed westerly and southerly

swell of 4 feet. Not much will change into the evening, and the wind

should subside even more. After that, areas of fog will return.

Out farther, the northwestern winds will be much more fierce, blowing

15 to 25 knots and leading to 3- to 4-knot winds and a swell of 6 feet.

Winds will stay strong by evening and into the night with a swell of 7

feet. Expect the patchy fog to return.

SURF

It would probably be wise to wait a day to take to the waves as mostly

knee- to waist-high surf will dominate today. Expect fair conditions and

the occasional 4-footer, but Thursday’s looking a bit better with

shoulder-highs and some 5-footers. And another drab day looks to be

developing for Friday.
