Youth Football: Youth is ready for some football

COSTA MESA - Opening day won’t just be any other day of scrimmage

games for the Costa Mesa Pop Warner football league Saturday.

The Pop Warner league will have a silent auction and a big-time

hamburger lunch at Costa Mesa High.

The scrimmage games will start at 9 a.m. at Costa Mesa High, where the

flag football team will play and the Mighty Mite division will follow at

11 a.m. The Junior Pee Wee black and green squads will take to the field

at 12:30 p.m. and the Pee Wee, Junior Midget and Midget teams will round

out the action.
