The Huntington Beach Playhouse is presenting, “Joseph and the Amazing

Technicolor Dreamcoat” Friday through Aug. 26. The production is a hip

biblical tale of the prophetic son Joseph who was sold into slavery by

his brothers. The show includes a contemporary blend of calypso, rock &

FRIDAY

The Huntington Beach Art Center is showing an exhibition titled “It’s

Not What You Think It Is.” The show features works created by students

from three local middle schools and one high school. The exhibit will

also include works by their mentor and instructor. It is scheduled to run

through Aug 18. The opening reception will be 5 to 7 p.m. on Aug 2. The

The 40th annual Huntington Beach Open Tennis Tournament will be held

The Huntington Beach Central Library and Cultural Center is presenting

Tom Macfarlane and Rob Woyshner as part of its 2001 Music Concert Series.

The men will perform a duet. Their program combines a variety of musical

Murdy Community Center is offering a Summer Arts and Crafts Camp, a

The USCG Auxiliary Flotilla 53 will be offering a 10-lesson course covering basic through advanced coastal navigation, 6 p.m. Wednesdays

read charts, latitude and longitude, direction, time, speed, distance,

The Sunset in the Park 2.8- and 4.8-mile cross country run and walk

will take place Thursday, Aug. 30 at Huntington Beach Central Park,

between Goldenwest and Edward streets, and Ellis and Slater avenues.

Girls’ high school age race starts at 4:30 p.m., boys’ starts at 5 p.m.

The 2.80-mile run/walk starts at 6 p.m., the 4.8-mile run starts at 6:30

The Moms Offering Moms Support Club, a nonprofit support group for
