Lightning keeps grip on first place

The Lightning retained its grip on first place in the Wales Division

standings last weekend by defeating the Kings, 7-4.

Darryl Morita scored twice and had one assist as the Lightning ran its

record to 7-0-1.

Other goals were scored by David Shaw, Spenser Ono, Ross Turchi,

Shamus Dick and Jeffrey Kurokawa. Assists went to Turchi, Shaw, Kurokawa,

Jordan Wallace and Garrett Ono, who led the team with three assists.

Amy Jaeger recorded 13 saves.

Shane Galaviz scored three goals to pace the Kings (1-6-1) who also

received one goal from Lee Herzog, and an assist from Brendan Davis, as

well as 20 saves from Brandon Rodriguez.

In other games:

Blades 9, No Fear 0

Cameron Monahan came up with 15 saves for the Blades and benefited

from a strong defensive effort.

Kyle Steinbrick scored twice and added two assists, Casey Adams and

Kyle Bezayiff each scored twice and had an assist, Kyle Jeffrey scored

once and Kevin Powers and Paul Leigh each had an assist and as the Blades

record improved to 4-4.

Riptides 7, Atomic 4

Ryan Schwabe poured in four goals and had one assist, Armando Reyes

Jr. scored once and had two assists, Travis Geery and Chester Kohler

scored once each and Casey Maines had 21 saves for the Riptides (5-2-1).

Mark Kanow, Travis Benson, Kevin Smit and Cristina Castle all scored,

Valinda Easton had an assist and Colton Daegneault had 26 saves for the

Atomic (2-5-1).

In Norris Division action:

Stars 6, Net Rangers 5

Kyle Impelman scored twice and had two assists, Brett Harper scored

twice, Chad Morris scored once with two assists, Zachary Sellards scored

once and Sean Wing recorded 24 saves for the Stars, who lead the division

at 7-1.

The Net Rangers (2-5-1) received three goals and an assist from

Christian Wildey, two goals from Austin Harms, assists from Julien Laux

and Ian Arnold and 36 saves from Kyle Morrill.

Menehunes 3, Diablos 2

Lewis Gifford scored all three goals, Tyler Allen had an assist and

Conner Parks stopped 29 shot attempts as the Menehunes moved to 5-2-1.

Kenneth Nguyen and John Aldinger scored, Dylan Dongird had an assist and

Joshua Austin also had 29 saves for the Diablos (3-5).

Slapshots 4, Predators 2

Robert Oliver scored two goals, Trevor Dunbar scored once with an

assist, Dean Neugebauer scored once, Austin Clifford had an assist and

Matthew Inouye had 28 saves to lead the Slapshots (4-4). Stephen Marchand

and D.J. Mihalik scored and Michael Marchand had an assist for the

Predators (6-2).

Surf Dogs 7, Heat 3

Connor Cal Lathrope burned the nets for four goals, Michael Feirstein

scored twice, Chanel Pixley scored once with an assist, Mitch Robinson

assisted two goals and Corey DeMatteo had 26 saves for the Surf Dogs

(5-2-1).

Evan Zinger, Alexa Enlow and Cole Thormodsgaard all scored and William

DeWitt had 31 saves to lead the Heat (1-7).
