Celeste Richardson of Newport Beach was one of three recipients

awarded Rookie of the Year honors at FTD and VNS’s three-day national

sales meeting for FTD and VNS field service representatives who offer

services to the U.S., Canada and Latin America. FTD is the world’s

largest floral organization linking 15,000 florists across the U.S. and

Canada. . . . Koll Development Co. appointed Jake J. Ragusa vice

president of marketing and development. Ragusa will be responsible for

directing all aspects of the firm’s new business development and

corporate marketing. He will be focusing marketing efforts in Southern

California and coordinating Koll’s corporate marketing nationally out of

the Dallas office, where he will be based. Ragusa was regional director

of Insignia ESG in Dallas before joining Koll. He is a member of the

National Assn. of Industrial and Office Properties and the Texas Real

Estate Council. . . . Laurette Dawn O’Neil of Costa Mesa graduated in May

with a doctorate degree in veterinary medicine from Purdue University. .

. . Ramon R. Rivas, son of Nancy A. Carnody of Newport Beach,

participated in the U.S. Naval Academy Summer Seminar at Annapolis, Md.

Rivas participated in daily physical training, sports competitions,

seamanship and sailing programs, and attended academic workshops during

the six-day seminar. Rivas was one of 500 high school students selected

from a pool of more than 5,000 students based on academic performance and

extracurricular activity. . . . Gary W. Grimes, son of Sharon M. and Gary

W. Grimes of Newport Beach, also participated in the U.S. Naval Academy

Summer Seminar in Annapolis, Md. . . . Johnnie Lane of Costa Mesa

graduated with a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from Savannah

College of Art and Design in Savannah, Ga., on June 2. . . . Jessica

Luchesi, daughter of Phil and Karen Luchesi of Corona del Mar, made the

dean’s list at the University of San Diego for the 2001 spring semester.

Luchesi is a business administration major and earned second honors with

a grade-point average between 3.33 and 3.64. Luchesi will be a sophomore

this fall and was a 2000 Corona del Mar High School graduate.
