TODAY

The Sunset in the Park 2.8 and 4.8 mile cross country run and walk

will take place Thursday, Aug. 30 at Huntington Beach Central Park,

between Goldenwest and Edwards streets, and Ellis and Slater avenues.

Girls high school age race starts at 4:30 p.m., boys start at 5 p.m. The

2.8 mile run/walk starts at 6 p.m., the 4.8 mile run starts at 6:30 p.m.

Race fee is $17 with T-shirt or $14 for the race only. Additional fee to

The Huntington Beach Art Center is presenting an annual exhibition in

the Main Galleries entitled, “Art at the Beach.” This youth art

exhibition focuses on paintings, drawings, mosaics, fiber, sculpture,

writing, music and dance with featured works created by more than 400

students from our Summer Art Camp. It is scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. Sept.

9th. at 538 Main St. Art from each class project was chosen by the art

instructors at the conclusion of each class, and final selection will be

undertaken by the Art Center’s curator prior to installation.

The Huntington Beach Council on Aging is presenting its 13th annual

The Moms Offering Moms Support Club, a nonprofit support group for

stay-at-home mothers, organizes daily activities for mothers and their

children including park play days, fun field trips and age appropriate

play groups. Special interest activities just for mom are included. Every

month, members perform service projects to assist several organizations
