A group suing California State Parks to force the return of the former

residents of Crystal Cove State Park has been given a tentative court

date for a hearing.

Attorneys with Crystal Cove Community Trust are set to plead their

case with Orange County Superior Court Judge Francisco Firmat on Nov. 21.

The group has argued that the eviction of the former tenants in July

could lead to the deterioration of the cottages. State officials have

said the department needed the cove dwellers out so the park could be

returned to the public to use.

Several attempts to settle the suit have failed, trust leader Bruce

Hostetter said.
